SHARP PARK

Cobble Hill

Milton, Vermont

Welcome to Sharp Park

We offer a unique experience that combines conservation, education, agriculture and recreation on our 101 acre ecology preserve located in the heart of Chittenden County surrounding Cobble Hill in Milton, Vermont, only ten miles north of Burlington, minutes from exit 17 of I89.

Take an eco-tour of our Christmas tree farm, our sugarbush and our acres of forest conservation land on the most eco-friendly motorized human transporter ever invented – the Segway.  We offer guided eco-tours through the woods on Segways devoted to topics ranging from the local geology of the Lake Champlain valley to our spectacular wildflowers in the springtime.

We also offer hiking and mountain biking and an Orbitron (human gyroscope) during the spring, summer and fall and snow tubing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, cross country and downhill skiing and sliding in the winter.  We sell choose and cut Christmas trees from our plantation (Sharp Farm)surrounding our paraglider landing zone on weekends from Thanksgiving through Christmas and we also offer live potted Christmas trees, wreaths and Vermont products for sale in our all purpose barn, which includes bathroom facilities and a snack bar.

Sharp Park is a great family fun adventure destination any time of the year.  Bring a picnic lunch, hike to the top of the hill and enjoy the spectacular views of the Lake Champlain valley, the Green Mountains and the Adirondacks.  Cobble Hill is 900 feet above sea level at its summit, towering 800 feet over Lake Champlain and the rest of the valley.  It has fantastic views in all directions.  On clear days Canada is visible from the summit.

Cobble Hill is also ideally suited to teaching paragliding.  It is one of only two paraglider training facilities in New England and the only one in Vermont.

We can only teach paragliding when the wind is out of the northwest since we have to launch and land into the wind and our training slope faces northwest.  But we are open for Segway tours, hiking and mountain biking  on weekends from June 1 through December each year from 10 a.m. to dusk (8 p.m. in summer, 4 p.m. in winter).  We recommend that you call at least 48 hours in advance to reserve a slot in a Segway eco-tour.  We reserve the right to cancel any tour with less than four participants.  Please note that all our activities are outdoors and therefore subject to weather conditions we don’t control.

Winter activities from late November into March are subject to snow conditions.  We only open the barn during the winter when we have good snow conditions and sufficient traffic to warrant operation.  Check our web site, email us at sharppark@comcast.net or call us at:  (802) 879-3507 before planning a trip to Sharp Park in the winter.

Sharp Park is open to the public and there is no admission or parking charge.  We make our living providing Segway tours, snow tubes and other equipment, special events, and the sale of Christmas trees and Vermont products.  Please patronize our business.

At Sharp Park our mission is to have fun, enjoy the ecology of our area and inspire the environmental spirit in all of us.

Thank you,
